On December 5, 2007, the Washington Toxics Coalition, in collaboration with the Toxic-Free Legacy Coalition and environmental health organizations across the country, released an online database - www.HeathyToys.org to show the extent of the problem of toxic chemicals in toys and provide guidance for parents wishing to purchase less toxic toys.

The Washington Toxics Coalition and the Toxic-Free Legacy Coalition hosted “Bring Your Kids’ Toys to Work Day” on Thursday, September 27th at the Capitol in Olympia, WA . We conducted this on-site investigation with a special tool, called an XRF Analyzer, which can detect toxic heavy metals like lead and cadmium as well as PVC (vinyl), the poison plastic.
